Here you are a week or so back playing with some of your fun birthday toys. (: It was a hectic weekend with your mom off zip lining on friday (school field trip), a garage sale on Saturday with Nana, your dad roughing it in the woods with Dave, and then it was back to the grind on monday (which was also mom's bday).

You loved all the people at the garage sale and we think you really helped seal the deal on a few items. You even ate breakfast outside in your stroller while we set up, then you played inside with Bonesy for awhile.

And the first word is...

Shoe!!!! Yes...it's official. Your first word is shoe. While "doh"
or "dog" was a close second, there was no disagreement on shoe. Nana actually heard it one day at her house and brought it to our attention, so I guess she heard it first. (: Another word in the works is "ju" for juice and "boon" for balloon. Barney gets a "ban" type sound and turtle comes in with a "tut."

These pics are of you enjoying the day at Grammie's house- this is your first ride on a tricycle! (: We think that's perfect since Grammie loves to ride her bike and someday she can show you how to ride your first bicycle!

First B-Day Recap

Here's just a start of all the fun we had at your first birthday party! We had Nana, Bonesy, Pop, and Grammie over the night of your actual birthday and you got to practice blowing out your first candle on your first candle on your first birthday. (: On Saturday, we had a big celebration at Nana and Bonesy's house! We wanted to have it outside at our house, but the weather didn't cooperate. You had 25 people help you ring in your first year! The guests included Mom, Dad, Nana, Bonesy, Grammie, Pop, Patty, Jackie, Jane, Ge, Pop, Renee, Kris, Katie, Joe, Wyatt, Weston, Fred, Clara, Ella, Sue, Leslie, Sage, Wade, and Kyle. You got so many cool new toys, adorable outfits,Barney paraphernalia, a wheely bug, and even a special picture that Uncle Ron drew. You even got a monster truck from Wyatt, which you love! We sang happy birthday to you and you had your own 1st birthday owl cake that I made. You and Weston cuddled under your high chair and practiced touching each others noses. You apparently pinched Wade, but he quickly got over it and was back to giving you hugs in no time. You didn't eat too much cake because you wanted to get back down on the floor with all the kids. (:

It was such a special day, Yvette and we enjoyed celebrating our beautiful 1 year-old daughter. You are loved by so many and you make us all so happy. We love you!!! (:

Happy 1st Birthday, Yvette!!! Thank you for being our truest love, for giving us the widest smiles, and for being our biggest joy. We have enjoyed every day with you and watching you grow into a beautiful, fun, sweet little girl. You let us see things for the first time again and we appreciate the new perspective on life you have given us.

We had a wonderful weekend with you working outside and finding all sorts of cool new things. You got to see lots of new "bowers," and watch the "dohs" run around out back.

This time last year, I was starting to feel like someone may make an appearance soon. I remember standing in Target and feeling my first contraction- it was so painful it took my breath away and I remember thinking "Whoa! This is going to be interesting!" I felt pretty restless the rest of the day and by 10p.m., the contractions started coming every hour or so. Then the next day...
