Swinging

This past weekend we spent time with our friends Clara and Fred and their 6 month old baby girl, Ella. You enjoyed taking her toys and placing them in your mouth. You really hammed it up with all the party attendees and gladly showed off your high pitch scream and wobbly walking skills. Then your friends Wyatt and Weston let us know that they just got a season pass to the zoo and Discovery Center and want you to join them, so your Dad and I plan on doing that soon too!

You are really getting the animal sounds down and now along with the cow, we have the "cack, cack" sound of the duck. You can also point to your nose and ears. Yogurt is by far your favorite food and you even tried venison for the first time last night.

Last year at this time we were anxiously awaiting your arrival. One week from today you decided to join us. (: We can't wait to celebrate your 1st birthday, Yvette!!!

Now that's a hat even Lady Gaga would be proud of! You are really starting to move around and if you could push a big dislike button when we take you inside, you certainly would. Yesterday when we came inside, you laid flat out on the floor, put your head down, screamed, and started flailing your legs...similar to what your dad does when he has to return to the indoors.

We were reading a book the other night and you almost said the word "flower," but it was more like "bower." You repeatedly say "uh-oh, dee dow dee dow," as in "uh-oh, spaghetti-o's." Barney and Elmo are currently your favorite characters, as well as Imagination Movers when mom gets ready in the morning.

We love you, Yvette!!!

Happy Birthday!!!

Today is your dad's birthday! He had ham, pizza, ice cream for his birthday breakfast. (: You love him so much and dance and scream when he comes home from work. He takes care of you and shows you all sorts of new things. We love you Daddy!!!!

Surprise!

Last weekend we had a surprise bridal shower for your Aunt Nay Nay! It was hard keeping a secret from her because she always knows what's going on, but she had no idea and we had a wonderful day celebrating her. Later on we all went out to continue the festivities in Philly and we had quite a hoot. (: Congratulations, Renee- we love you!!!

You got to spent the whole weekend with your amazing dad and he said you both had fun playing outside and visiting Grammie and Pop. This weekend we get to celebrate your dad's birthday. (:

The other day we went to the Discovery Center with Grammie and Elle. You got to play instruments, go shopping, sit in a bird's nest, sit in an airplane, and ride a bike.

First Steps

Tonight you took your first steps! The first two videos were from my phone and then I finally got one to load from the camera (thanks for teaching me patience on that one, John!). I was talking to your Great- Grandmother (Jane) tonight and she asked me if you had taken any steps yet. I told her you hadn't yet, but we thought you were close. As soon as I got off the phone, we witnessed your first official steps as you went after the elusive remote control.

You and Cousin Matthew had a great time playing with toys, sharing snacks, chasing animals, and getting dirty outside. Matthew is showing you how to give hugs and kisses...maybe next time you can give him one too! Between your "ba's" and his "da's", there was quite an explosion of baby lingo going on at the Herrick Zoo. Later that night we went to Nana and Bonesy's and you saw Grammie and Pop there too. (:

On Easter we went to Ge and Pop's and you got to see all of your other cousins and Les and Scott. You even kept the bow on your head that Les gave you. (: You also showed off your standing on your own skills. We love you!
