Great-Grandmothers
Here you are with your great-grandmothers and mother! Ge (Barbara Duffy) and Gammie (Jane Anbro) enjoy seeing their great grand-daughter and we love that they are getting to know you. They are very strong, wise, loving, and amazing women. They have so many interesting stories about their lives, too. Your dad and I will share these stories about all of our grandparents with you. Your own grandparents- Pop, Grammie, Bonesy, and Nana will tell you their own life stories that you can share someday (maybe with your own kids!).
Check out the labels on posts to see who took the pics (: Thank you for sharing them with us!

Good Times
Your Dad and I went out and got you a new toy- a fantastic bouncer/activity station! We saw cousin Matthew's Cadillac of seats on his blog and since he always knows what's best, we thought we would get you one, too. You LOVE to watch Matthew and all of his fun videos- you literally scream when you see him playing and chatting away! Here is a link to his blog- http://www.mlittled.blogspot.com (I don't know how to do the link thing like John does-sorry!)
Matthew is absolutely adorable and a special little boy in our lives- we can't wait to watch the trouble, I mean fun, the two of you get into. (: Since he is the older one, he can show you the ropes with the whole crawling, walking, talking, and eating business.

Cold
Well it was bound to happen- your first cold. Your little nose and eyes are runny and you did not sleep well last night- we feel so bad for you. We're sure your mom probably brought it home from school since she is around germy kids all day. Sorry. ):
One of my students just said "I just saw your baby with 4 dogs,"- I guess you were out on a walk with Nana, Patty, Percy, Remy, Atticus, and Truman. It just sounded funny the way she said it!
Have a good day everyone! Hope you feel better, Yvette. Love the serious look. (:

Nature Baby
This week Aunt Patty and Gammie are visiting, so that always makes everything more fun! They are going to help watch you with Nana on Wed.-Fri. this week- I'm sure they will have stories to tell of their days with you. (: We wish Aunt Jackie could be here too, but she is working in Maryland. Today we have the man coming to hopefully start working on the bathrooms, your mom has curriculum night at school, and tomorrow we are going to Ge and Pop's for dinner- the days are packed, Yvette!
What else is going on...your dad joined the Mycological Society of America because he loves mushrooms and he is really getting your mom into them, too. You have already been on quite a few mushroom expeditions. When we are on our mushroom walks you love to grab the leaves on trees and pull as hard as you can. You also like to scrape your nails on the bark of trees.
We are amazed at how we can put your feet at the bottom of the crib at night and in the morning, your head is at the bottom. You must be a busy sleeper. (: Hopefully you'll take a nap today for Grammie since you didn't take any yesterday! Love you!

Fun Baby
You are one fun baby, Yvette! You bring so much joy to our lives and you give us the strength we need to get through a pretty tough time right now. I ordered your Halloween costume today and we know you will be one scary sea creature. (: I also ordered your first Christmas present, too- more books! Reading to you is one of the highlights of my day. We love you, Yvette!!! (:

Eating and Sleeping
You are becoming such a big girl! Last night you slept from 9p.m. to 5a.m.- 8 hours!!! Your mom feels like a new woman! (: You are also getting the nap thing down during the day and the cereal eating at night. You are rolling over, putting toys in your mouth, and sitting up with some help. Here is a quick video of a cereal eating session- we find that along with the fun of feeding you, putting you in your bouncy chair while we do it seems to add to the challenge. I guess we know why the high chair was invented!

Working
Well your Mom is back at work teaching those crazy 7th graders, so you go to Nana's or Grammie's house. Grammie took this picture of you- look at those blue eyes! Your grandparents love spending time with you and you love to give them your big smile. (:
You really enjoy being read to and you even like to try and eat the book. Bath time is always fun, too- you like looking at yourself in the mirror as you splash about. Music is also a hit in the household. I just watched your cousin Matthew's video and he was jamming out to "Macho, Macho, Matthew" by the Village People and I can't stop laughing. (: He might just be a rock star one day! Your dad and I sing to you, too- "Boo-Boo, Bunny. Boo-Boo, Bunny, Bunny, Boo..." to the tune of Sanford and Son- no idea how or why that tune was chosen!!!

Rambling
You are getting the rice cereal eating down... and the foot in your mouth thing. (: The dogs are finding out that you are the person to be next to when it's time to eat. Mom is also finding out that it's a lot easier to feed you in your high chair than your bouncy seat. Why won't the video load??!!! I'll try again later.
Today you are going to Grammie and Pop's house to meet their friends and then you will go to Nana and Bonesy's house to continue the Labor Day weekend festivities. Then Mom goes back to work next week and you will continue your fun with Grammie and Nana.

First Movie Attempt...
So you have been up to a few new things... First, you have taken a few "rides" on Chubby and Freyja. I think out of all the parties involved, your Mom and Dad are the ones most amused by this new play activity. You also went swimming for the first time in Nana's pool, but really you just got your feet wet since the water was so cold and you did not like it. You also had some rice cereal for the first time tonight- you weren't too sure about it, but we think it may have potential to be a food you like.I will try to get those videos up at some point, too- here's one with you and Chubby.

Paul
Yesterday was a hard day because we buried your Uncle Paul's ashes. We miss him so much and someday you'll hear all about him.
Here is a prayer we placed with him and it was also read at his funeral:
Native American Prayer
Author: Native American Prayer, Mary Frye
Do not stand at my grave and weep...
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awake in the mornings hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush...
of quiet birds in circling flight,
I am the soft star-shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry...
I am not there... I did not die...
The following song by Cat Stevens was played at his funeral:
Oh very young
What will you leave us this time
Youre only dancing on this earth for a short while
And though your dreams may toss and turn you now
They will vanish away like your daddys best jeans
Denim blue fading up to the sky
And though you want them to last forever
You know they never will
You know they never will
And the patches make the goodbye harder still
Oh very young
What will you leave us this time
There'll never be a better chance to change your mind
And if you want this world to see a better day
Will you carry the words of love with you
Will you ride the great white bird into heaven
And though you want to last forever
You know you never will
You know you never will
And the goodbye makes the journey harder still
Oh very young
What will you leave us this time
You're only dancing on this earth for a short while
Oh very young
What will you leave us this time
