What a Christmas!
Here's just a snapshot of you on your first Christmas. (: It was quite a hit and certainly one we will remember. Thank you all so much for the gifts and your generosity. Yvette and I are having a blast playing with all of her new toys on my week off!

Razzzzzberries!
I guess cousin Matthew taught you how to make razzberry sounds, because you certainly have them down! Now, if he could just fill you in on how to make some teeth...he has two already and they even have names! (:
Last night you went to meet Santa for the first time...and you were not too happy about it. The picture is priceless. You also got a lot of attention at the mall because you like to put one foot up on the tray of your stroller when we are strolling- you think you are the coolest thing ever riding around like this (we think so, too).

Red Nose and A Really Big Cat
The red nose is yours and the big cat is Harry, who lives with Grammie and Pop. He is a Maine Coon cat and they have two- the other one is Higgins.
We have been calling you our little Rudolph, with that bright red nose of yours. (: Speaking of Rudolph, a week from tomorrow will be your first Christmas. Last night, we watched the Grinch and you kicked your legs and squealed with delight when he
sang "Mr. Grrrrinnnnch." You watched a message from Santa on Portable North Pole and he was very impressed that you have been eating all of your fruits and vegetables.
Today you are with Nana and Bonesy- hopefully taking a nap at some point!

Who's Pretty in Pink?
You are of course, Yvette! Today was the first snow day of the season, so we got to spend a weekday together.(: After breakfast we were singing "I'm a little teapot," and after you got all steamed up and I poured you out- your breakfast came pouring out right on cue! Lesson learned. You then spent time on the floor practicing your crawl, or the worm as we call it. You love the Christmas tree- and so does Mr.Cheswick. You have now perfected your wave and banging objects to make noise.
Tomorrow you will go to Nana's where we're hoping Bonesy can get some new pics of you with both of them so I can post the updated pictures on your blog. It's always the hardest getting the photographer's picture. (:

Cheesy Poofs, Stephen King, and Soccer
Tonight with the love and support of your family, Paul- we honored, remembered, and celebrated your time here with us. It was a night that will not be forgotten, for it was a warm gathering of people who loved, believed in, nurtured, and embraced your being.
Paul's cousin, John DeNoyelles wrote the following poem:
Poem for a Sad Day
Asleep with my daddy, I on his chest;
Mommy cries and ends our rest.
Hard to breathe, for pain they hold me;
I absorb their tears, many there will be.
Some day they will tell me and I will know,
Of him whose love will always grow;
That clenches the hearts of every one,
Those waiting to see him when all is done.
When I'm Gone
by Mrs.Lyman Hancock
When I come to the end of my journey
And I travel my last weary mile
Just forget if you can, that I ever frowned
And remember only the smile
Forget unkind words I have spoken
Remember some good I have done
Forget that I ever had heartache
And remember I've had loads of fun
Forget that I've stumbled and blundered
And sometimes fell by the way
Remember I have fought some hard battles
And won, ere the close of the day
Then forget to grieve for my going
I would not have you sad for a day
But in summer just gather some flowers
And remember the place where I lay
And come in the shade of evening
When the sun paints the sky in the west
Stand for a few moments beside me
And remember only my best
Happy Birthday,Paul...We love you now and forever.

Post Turkey Day
Sorry for the late post. Your first Thanksgiving was such a hit (and explosive- more later)! You got to see both sets of grandparents and your cousins. You and Matthew had a great time catching up and he gave you some suggestions on how to really start moving on the floor. You tapped him on the cheek and thanked him for being such a great almost 9 month old role model for you. You also stared with envy at that beautiful head of hair. (: Don't worry- you're getting some peach fuzz now!
At the dinner table, we let you take over with the spoon. We also tried some cranberry sauce and mashed potatoes, which you did not enjoy. So when I tried just one more spoonful... it ALL came back up- just like a volcano! There were big people vomit sounds and all! It was certainly a memorable event. (:

Turkey Day
Or Cat Day...if Harry had his way! (: Looks like you might be crawling to the turkey this year, Yvette...even if it is backwards and you fall on your stomach. (: Thank you for making the past 6 months so special and for making us smile on a daily basis. We love you so very much.
We love our family and friends and hope everyone has a peaceful Thanksgiving. We love and miss you today and always, Paul. Although your time here was too short, we are thankful for the years we had with you.

Yay Aunt Nay!
We are SOOOOOO excited that Aunt Nay and Uncle Kris are getting married!!!!!!!!!!!!! July 2, 2010 is the date and we couldn't be happier for them. (: This past weekend they came up to see you before they went on to the wineries in the Finger Lakes. Someday Yvette, ask Renee about the line, "I'm going to put my coat on and go to Sarah's!"- it was something she told me the night she got engaged. (:

Sports Fans
It's a sports kind of day, so Yvette here you are with your Baltimore Ravens jersey (thank you Mary and Angela!) and your first sports bag (thank you Jackie!)- you are now ready for action! We heard the Ravens were playing, so we got you suited up and you have been warming up on the floor and couch all morning long. We may be a little biased being your parents, so we naturally think your form is outstanding. But we'll leave the judging up to the real expert and coach- How do my skills look, Aunt Jackie?(:

Faces
Grammie and Pop did a great job catching your new expressions and emerging personality! You have many stories to tell already and you have the animation down pat. (: We think the third look from the top may be an expression we see often during the teenage years. After all that story telling and facial contorting, it's definitely time for a nap.
