Turkey Day

Or Cat Day...if Harry had his way! (: Looks like you might be crawling to the turkey this year, Yvette...even if it is backwards and you fall on your stomach. (: Thank you for making the past 6 months so special and for making us smile on a daily basis. We love you so very much.

We love our family and friends and hope everyone has a peaceful Thanksgiving. We love and miss you today and always, Paul. Although your time here was too short, we are thankful for the years we had with you.

Yay Aunt Nay!

We are SOOOOOO excited that Aunt Nay and Uncle Kris are getting married!!!!!!!!!!!!! July 2, 2010 is the date and we couldn't be happier for them. (: This past weekend they came up to see you before they went on to the wineries in the Finger Lakes. Someday Yvette, ask Renee about the line, "I'm going to put my coat on and go to Sarah's!"- it was something she told me the night she got engaged. (:

Sports Fans

It's a sports kind of day, so Yvette here you are with your Baltimore Ravens jersey (thank you Mary and Angela!) and your first sports bag (thank you Jackie!)- you are now ready for action! We heard the Ravens were playing, so we got you suited up and you have been warming up on the floor and couch all morning long. We may be a little biased being your parents, so we naturally think your form is outstanding. But we'll leave the judging up to the real expert and coach- How do my skills look, Aunt Jackie?(:

Faces

Grammie and Pop did a great job catching your new expressions and emerging personality! You have many stories to tell already and you have the animation down pat. (: We think the third look from the top may be an expression we see often during the teenage years. After all that story telling and facial contorting, it's definitely time for a nap.

Where's my hair?

So in an attempt to look even more like you, your dad decided to shave his head. (: Or the clippers broke and when I said "well, do what you need to do," he took me literally and used a straight razor to shave it all off. We noticed your heads are even the same shape!
You are getting more fun each and every day, Yvette. You have started drinking from a sippy cup...even if you don't drink all the juice, you still have fun practicing. You went to the doctor the other day and you weigh 17lbs.6oz and you are 26.5 inches long (60th and 75th percentiles, respectively). You are enjoying baby food such as carrots, peas, sweet potatoes, squash, peaches, pears, bananas, prunes, and apples. You are starting a pseudo-crawl, which we call the inch worm. You still think cats are the best thing on the earth. (: We've heard a few "ma's" in there, but nothing too set in stone yet.
We hope Nana, Bonesy, Aunt Patty, Aunt Jackie, and Gammie are having a good time on their cruise this week. You got to spend the week with Grammie and Pop and you always have fun with them. We also send get well wishes to cousin Leslie-we're thinking of you this week. Hopefully cousin Matthew and Katie are on the mends from their colds- hugs and kisses to you!
We love you all. (:

6 Months Old Today!

The first pic is the last day I was at school, which was a Friday, May 1st and then you were born on Monday, May 4th 2009 (notice the belly touching the desk). The next shot was the when you were first born and the one after that was the first day we brought you home from the hospital. The last picture is you on your 6 month milestone- half a year old! How time flies...

sitting up

Did I actually get a video to upload??? Sorry for the
grainy picture- it's from my cell phone. I'll keep trying
with the other videos- I think I might need some help
from my younger and wiser cousin, John- a.k.a.-the expert blogger. (:

Here is your first debut as a lobster at Ge and Pop's house. (: You also have some Halloween day wear from Aunt Patty.

Leg-Warmers

Babies are fun and so are the clothes. I found these leg warmers at One Step Ahead and thought they would be perfect for those chubby baby legs. They will be great for those cold mornings in your bouncer- a girl has to look cute when she is working out. (:

Just a few more days and it will be your first Halloween. We can't wait for those pics and to see what cousin Matthew's first costume will be- no doubt you will be the cutest Halloween babies this year!

Growing

In just a few more weeks, you will be 6 months old...it is amazing to see how much you have changed in such a short time. You can now roll over from your back to stomach and vice versa. In fact you sleep with your knees tucked up under your belly with your butt sticking up in the air- it's too cute. You are starting to figure out how to wave when we leave. You are now eating barley cereal, prunes, carrots, and bananas. You LOVE the kitties and scream with delight when they stick around long enough for you to grab onto their fur. Chubby and Freyja are also a big hit. (: You have some new favorite songs, too- ABC's, I love you-you love me, Old MacDonald, Little Bunny FooFoo, etc.. You are such a happy baby and you are so alert and curious. What will you do next, Yvette? We love you.

Love Apple

Well not quite a Warhol original, but we had fun trying! For all you Mac users, if you haven't found Photo Booth yet, I highly recommend it. (:

Walker

These pics are from Grammie's house where you like to zoom around in the walker. Although your dad and I have to work, it's such a comforting feeling knowing have much fun you have and how much you are loved by your grandparents.

family

Here you are with Savannah, Laurissa, and Robbie. Permission was granted to add this cute pic of the four of you to your blog. (: We wish all of our family lived closer, but we enjoy any time we do spend with them. We are very lucky to have such a loving and supportive family and we are so grateful to have you all in our lives. In a world where change is a constant, one thing you will never have to worry about Yvette, is that you will always be loved.

Fall Fun

This weekend you went on your first hayride! It was so much fun and you and Weston babbled away the whole ride. Uncle Joe arranged for the hayride from the church where he and Aunt Kate were married 5 years ago and we took it back to their house where he planned a surprise 30th b-day party for her- it was a blast!

Today we went to Ge and Pop's where you saw your other NYS cousins- Robbie, Laurissa, and Savannah. You loved screaming at Savannah, who even carried you around. Laurissa is such a natural with you and her baby brother- it is amazing how grown up she is! They are the sweetest girls and that little Robbie is pure joy. It was so great to see all of them and Erik and Jenna.

This week we're hoping for the bathroom renovation to be finished. Right now it's gutted and hopefully we'll have a new bathroom by next weekend. Speaking of next weekend, I will be heading to Philadelphia and you will be spending Saturday night with Dad.

Out For A Hike

One of the best gifts we got before you were born was a back pack your dad and I can wear when we take you out for hikes. Your dad actually picked this pack out and he has been waiting since the day you were born to use it. Our first trip using it was just a quick walk up behind the zoo.

Happy 3rd Birthday to cousin Tyler today!

Iron Kettle Farm

We took you on your first pumpkin patch visit to Iron Kettle Farm! You saw miniature horses, burros, goats, cows, peacocks, turkeys, rabbits, and pigs- a lot of firsts there! We used to go to Iron Kettle and say we couldn't wait to bring our kids there- thank you for making another wish of ours come true, Yvette.
